  • As a newcomer to Pilates, you should start with private sessions or the Introduction to Pilates Equipment class offered every Saturday at 10am.

If you are already into your Pilates practice, we offer classes at Levels 1 to 4:

Level 1 - classes are slower paced, designed for all students who have some experience with Pilates equipment and will focus on mastering Pilates fundamentals while adhering to basic exercises.

Level 2 - classes are medium paced and introduce more challenging Pilates exercises requiring increased core strength and balance.

Level 3 - classes are faster pasted and for clients who are able to execute various exercises, are confident in their balance with the ability to stand on the Reformer, and are able to transition between exercises at a faster pace.

Level 4 - classes are fast paced with rapid transitions between exercises geared towards clients who have a consistent Pilates practice, a deep understanding of the principles of Pilates, and are able to execute most exercises not requiring step by step instruction.

Some classes may be designated Level 1-2 or Level 2-3 as they are in between, meaning some exercises will challenge up in these "between" designations.

If you are uncertain which classes may be the best fit for you, please ask an instructor.

  • The best clothes to wear to class are stretchy materials that allow movement. Clothes should lean towards form-fitting versus very loose. Overly baggy clothing will make it difficult to move and can prevent the instructor from observing your form. The key to Pilates is your form, and your instructor will need to see your body alignment to guide you in your practice.

Modesty is another thing to consider when picking out your Pilates clothes. There are a lot of positions that involve legs spread into a straddle and torsos in the air, even inverted positions. Clothes that are too baggy may fall or ride up and make you uncomfortable, as well as expose more than you want to the class!

On the bottom, ankle length or capri leggings work, as well as track pants or joggers. You can wear shorts, but if they are loose shorts wear form fitting or bicycle shorts underneath them. On top, sports bras, crop tops, tank tops, t-shirts or long sleeve shirts that are not overly baggy all work. Tie back tops can be uncomfortable on the Reformer but may be worn.

Shoes - of course, you wear shoes to and from classes. Once in studio, people do Pilates either sock-footed or barefoot. If you are wearing socks, you will want to wear socks with a grip on the bottom so you don't slip on the equipment. We sell socks and other attire in studio.

  • Yes! We have a private bathroom in studio with hooks to hang your clothes.

  • Attendance in a group class can be canceled online in your Mindbody account without penalty of losing the class credit up to 12 hours before the class starts.

  • Please contact your instructor directly.

  • All Pilates equipment in studio is made by Balanced Body, and the Reformers are Balanced Body Studio Reformers.  Miscellaneous equipment including foam rollers, stretch bands, etc. are made by other reputable brands.
