Pilates Classes
Group Class Descriptions
Group classes are limited to five students allowing the instructor to pay attention to each and every student. Classes are 55 minutes, unless otherwise noted. We offer one introductory class each week, then classes are Levels 1 through 4.
Introduction to Pilates Equipment
This 75 minute class is an introduction to the fundamentals of Pilates and beginning exercises on the Reformer and Exo Chair. We encourage every new Pilates student to take this class or private sessions before any other class.
Mixed Equipment Pilates
Levels 1 through 4*
* click here to read more about levels
All mixed equipment classes utilize the Reformer and can include mat, Exo Chair, and other props. Each level will further challenge you by introducing more advanced exercises and will move through exercises at a faster pace with quicker transitions between exercises as you level up. Please ask an instructor if you are uncertain which classes may be the best fit for you.
Advanced Classical Reformer
Level 4
An advanced Reformer class taught in the order Joseph Pilates taught the exercises. It is a fast-paced and challenging class. Classical Pilates focuses on fewer repetitions of each exercise with quick transitions between exercises. This is an advanced-level class for those who are very familiar with Pilates exercises and require limited instruction to execute the exercises in order to maintain the fast pace of the class.
Learn Classical Reformer
Level 3
This class is designed to learn the Classical Reformer sequence of exercises. It differs from the Level 4 Classical Reformer class in that this class will take you through the exercises with more instruction. In the Level 4 Classical Reformer class it is preferred you join knowing the exercises so as not to slow the pace of the class.
Pilates Jump Board
Level 2
This class utilizes the jump board on the Reformer. The jump board is an attachment that converts a reformer into a horizontal jumping machine. It fixes to the front of the reformer where the foot bar is located. While lying on your back on the carriage you jump on the board as if it were the floor. The spring tension takes gravity out of the equation, lessening the impact of jumping and landing. A jump board class is high intensity and low impact providing more cardiovascular training than other Pilates classes.
Classical Mat
Level 3
This challenging mat class follows Joseph Pilates original exercises in the order he designed and taught.
Roll, Stretch & Lengthen
All Levels
Release and lengthen your muscles through rolling and stretching. Consistent rolling of fascia and muscles plus stretching helps to reduce soreness, increase flexibility and reduce the risk of injury. This class will utilize some combination of balls, rollers, and bands on the mat, in addition to stretching on the Reformer.
Class Levels
-
Level 1 classes are slower paced, designed for all students who have some experience with Pilates equipment and will focus on mastering Pilates fundamentals while adhering to basic exercises.
-
Level 2 classes are medium paced and introduce more challenging Pilates exercises requiring increased core strength and balance.
-
Level 3 classes are faster paced and for clients who are able to execute various exercises, are confident in their balance with the ability to stand on the Reformer, and are able to transition between exercises at a faster pace.
-
Level 4 classes are fast paced with rapid transitions between exercises geared towards clients who have a consistent Pilates practice, a deep understanding of the principles of Pilates, and are able to execute most exercises not requiring step by step instruction.
*Some classes may be designated Level 1-2 or Level 2-3 as they are in between, meaning some exercises will challenge up in these "between" designations.

Private sessions are also available for individuals, in groups of two (duets) or groups of three (trios)
Sessions are 30 minutes to one hour in length
